Behind the mask

This surreal portrait of a woman from a series of paintings entitled Beyond the Visible is created using a combination of acrylic and spray paint. The painting of a woman wearing purple gloves explores themes of identity and hiding emotions. Part of her face, painted in grey tones, acts as a mask, symbolizing detachment and distance from the outside world. Her rigid, almost cold expression emphasizes the alienation and unmanifested emotions that lie beneath the surface. The combination of acrylic and spray paint creates a contrast between soft and hard lines, which heightens the sense of tension between what is seen and what remains hidden.
